Opening Hours for Lunch & Dinner, Wine Tastings and Cellar Door Sales Winter Hours From April 2013 Te Whau Vineyard Restaurant is on winter hours which are lunch and wine tasting Friday, Saturday and Sunday and dinner on Saturday nights. Reservations advisable, or drop by during opening hours just for a glass of wine or cup of coffee. Group lunches/dinners available at any time, call us on 09-372-7191. Summer Hours From Labour Weekend (end October) the restaurant is open for wine tasting and lunch six days a week (closed Tuesdays) and for dinner on Saturday nights only. During December and January we are open for lunch and wine tasting seven days a week and for dinner three nights - Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Wine Tasting Waiheke Island is renowned for its superlative red wines - Bordeaux-style blends and more recently Syrah. Here at Te Whau we predominantly grow red varieties for our Bordeaux blend, "The Point" and have this available for wine tasting. We are a very small vineyard, one of the smallest in New Zealand and do not buy in grapes from other vineyards, so our tasting is of our own wine, which is also available for sale. Currently we have three different vintages of The Point available for tasting and purchase, a great opportunity to try three wines from the same boutique vineyard but so different due to age and variability of the seasons. Group Christmas Functions Te Whau is a superb venue for that end-of-year office or group lunch/dinner.
